🙌 It Takes a Village (and That Means You!)

It truly takes a village to run swim meets and create an amazing season for our Mohican kids.

Each meet requires ~25 volunteers, and our events (like pep rallies) need about 10 more helpers to keep things fun and running smoothly.

To make sure every swimmer has a great experience and every meet runs well, each family is asked to contribute at least 5 volunteer points during the season.

⭐ New for 2025 (and continuing this season)

In addition to the standard 5 points, some families will be asked to provide extra program support.

This applies if:

• Your swimmer is a coach (paid or volunteer), OR
• Your swimmer:
  • Is in the 11–12 or 13+ age group, and
  • Participated in Divisionals last season

What does that mean?

If your family falls into one of these categories, you’ll:

• Complete your 5 volunteer points, and
• Take on an additional program support role

🗓️ Plan Ahead = Stress-Free Summer

Take a few minutes now to look at your family’s summer calendar and pick volunteer slots early—it makes the season much easier for everyone.

If volunteer requirements aren’t completed, a $200 per swimmer fee will be applied at the end of the season.

Seriously—most roles are simple, flexible, and a great way to:

• Meet other parents
• Learn how meets work
• Cheer on your swimmer up close

💡 New families: We highly recommend starting with Wednesday night B Meets—they’re relaxed and perfect for getting the hang of things.

VOLUNTEER JOB DESCRIPTIONS

We’ve got something for everyone—whether you want to jump in for an hour or take on a bigger role.

No Experience Needed 🎉

Timers

Know how to operate a stopwatch? You’re qualified. One of the best seats in the house to cheer on swimmers at the finish.

• Points: 1 (half meet, B Meets only) / 2 (full meet)

Runner

Help collect timing sheets between heats—quick, active, and you still get to watch your swimmer.

• Points: 1 (half meet) / 2 (full meet)

Automation Assistant

Curious how scoring works? Help collect and verify times (and sit in the shade!).

• Points: 2

Ribbon Writer

Help prepare ribbons—kids LOVE these. Relaxed, social, and in the shade. Great if you have a little one who needs to hang out with you during the meet.

• Points: 2

Clerk of Course

Help line swimmers up for their events—especially helpful for younger swimmers.

• Points: 2

Announcer (Home Meets)

Be the voice of the meet! Call out swimmers and events (yes, kids love hearing their names).

• Points: 2 (Program support eligible)

Concessions (Home A Meets)

Sell snacks, meet people, and keep everyone fueled. Another one that’s great for parents with younger kids, they can hang out near you or be your “helper.”

• Points: 1 per shift

Meet Set-Up

Come a little early and help get things ready.

• Points: 0.5

Bigger Roles / Program Support 💪
